About The Artist
Meet Anna Stone
With over 30 years of experience and formal training in Fine Arts, Anna Stone creates soulful, realistic pastel and oil paintings. From the Kalahari to the coast, and now inspired by the quiet beauty of the Karoo, her work captures the honest spirit of local residents and town scenes.
Utilizing 18th-century methods known as Pastel Painting, Anna blends soft powder pastels and gouache on cotton with charcoal, conté, and oils on canvas.
Her work ranges from intimate portraits and character-filled town scenes to detailed still lifes and animal studies. By focusing on the interplay of light and the rich textures of her subjects – and the specific objects that surround them – she creates a narrative that extends far beyond the surface of the paper.
“Art reflects the truth within oneself.”
